2010 Kick-Off Fundraising Campaign
The MUCS Project is evolving and growing. We have a fresh vision and exciting plans for the future. Join us and help nourish our dreams.
Support MUCS in reaching our goal of $25 000 by the end of January, 2010. Click on the "Donate Now" button on the right-hand side of the page, or follow the directions below to send us a cheque.
Each year your donation combined with 14 000 hours of volunteer time allows us to:
- Serve 4 000 meals from our neighbourhood kitchen!
- Host over 350 workshops and classes!
- Distribute more than 25 000 kilograms of food to over 5 000 people through our zero food waste network!
MUCS needs your generous support to continue operating and expanding innovative initiatives such as the MUCS Collective Kitchen, and the Zero Food Waste Project. Our efficient operating model means that your donation goes a long way! For example here are some of our modest monetary needs:
- $16 covers the cost of having clean, fresh laundry & dish towels for a whole month
- $20 pays for the gas for one week of collecting delicious produce from Fruiterie Rocky Montana to supply the MUCS Kitchen & the NDG Food Depot
- $25 pays for our composting service for one week
- $35 sponsors a membership for a Dining Coop member who doesn't have the means to pay for their meals
- $68.50 covers the entire cost of having a Katimavik volunteer working at MUCS every day for a month
- $175 pays the rent for the MUCS kitchen for a week
- $600 pays for a bulk order of organic grains & dried beans to feed the MUCS kitchen for 3 months
Please note that though we are a registered non-profit organization, we are currently in the process of applying for charitable status and as such your donation is not tax deductible at the current time.
